Gaza death toll reaches 44,235 as Israeli attacks kill 24 more Palestinians

Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of at least 24 more Palestinians, according to a statement from the Health Ministry in Gaza. This brings the total death toll to a staggering 44,235 since October of last year. Additionally, approximately 104,638 people have been injured in the ongoing military offensive, which continues to wreak devastation across the region.

The ministry reported that in the past 24 hours alone, Israeli forces carried out two large-scale attacks targeting families, resulting in 24 deaths and 71 injuries. Many victims remain trapped beneath rubble or stranded on roads, as rescuers face significant challenges in reaching them due to the relentless daily bombardment.

The conflict persists despite international condemnation and a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire. Global awareness of the crisis has grown, with many organisations and leaders describing the violence in Gaza as an act of genocide. On Thursday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Furthermore, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
